It All Begins Here
Monthly Wrap!
March was an incredible month. I can’t believe how quickly it went!
Some of our family highlights:
We celebrated Elsie’s 6th Birthday!! I took her out to breakfast on her birthday and then it was her dad’s time that evening, so we celebrated the following day with making build-a-bears, getting her ears pierced, and Hibachi!
She also had a party toward the end of the month where I had 50+ kids over for a big Barbie party! It was a blast and I received so many compliments on how much fun the parents had. There is something about a home party that allows parents to meet and mingle while their kids just run around and, ahhh, it is just so nice!
We built the most adorable leprechaun traps during the Home Depot Kids Workshop. They run every first Saturday of the month at 9am and it is so much fun, and it is FREE!!
Our leprechaun did not get trapped, but they did leave us chocolate coins, which was a fun consolation prize.
We went ice skating, attended a glow party, and moved up in Gymnastics.
What we’re looking forward to this month:
Spring Break! I was unable to trade parenting time, so the girls and I are going to Chicago to visit family and to have a mini getaway.
My mom is coming with us and we all plan to drive and visit Shedd Aquarium on our way in, stay in the ‘burbs.
Then, just Elsie and I are going downtown via the train to see Hamilton (this will be my 4th time seeing Hamilton since I first saw it less than a year ago 😅 - it helps that I have a really good, lifelong friend in the show)
Easter. We have a cute little cooking craft that we will do, and I am excited about the baskets this year. Last year I kind of half-assed the baskets, so I’m ready to redeem myself (not that the girls care at all!)
Waking up the Garden by cleaning out my raised beds and planting some of the cool season flowers - mostly sweet peas. This year, we are doing all flowers in the garden and I’m really excited to have something a bit more low maintenance that fills my cup - we’ll go to the farmer’s market for any necessary veggies!
My self-growth theme in March:
Channeling my inner rage and creating some safe containers to be able to let it out. I tried out a few different modalities: screaming into pillows, sprinting on the treadmill, blasting music, breathwork, and boxing.
I wish I had time to try other ideas, but when I found a few that stuck, I decided to stick with those. I hope to someday share on socials soon what worked for me and why!
My (planned) self-growth theme in April:
Opening up my heart, letting some walls down and receiving love in all forms. I’ve received a few pointed messages about this from my guides while in deep meditations and now that we have a full moon in Libra (my sun sign), I feel excited about what is to come this month.
